Caffeine most easily consumed in coffee is a psychoactive stimulant that jolts the nervous system into action, boosts the brain power and improves the body’s energy levels. Many cannot think of facing the day without a good amount of coffee in their veins. But just like all things, there are benefits and health risks.
Caffeine can deliver health benefits such as fighting inflammation, boosting metabolism, and possibly cutting risk for stroke, Parkinson’s disease, and heart failure.
The bad however include, insomnia, restlessness, and it causes jitters, interfering with the body’s ability to absorb calcium and in certain cases death.
The trick is consuming a healthy amount of caffeine daily. Other sources of caffeine include tea, drugs, chocolate, chocolate ice cream, energy drinks and soda pop drink to name a few.
