Africa’s richest man, Alhaji Aliko Dangote is set to acquire Peugeot Automobiles of Nigeria, PAN.

According to reports, the industrialist along with two state governments have submitted a bid to acquire the ailing and under-performing indigenous car assembly plant.

  
We gathered that the agitation by Nigerians for the patronization of Made-in-Nigeria products, especially automobiles, might have pushed Aliko Dangote to venture into production of automobiles. Though PAN only assembles Peugeot cars, experts believe Dangote might upgrade the plant to produce 100 percent locally made automobiles.
