The former member of the House of Representatives has been appointed Senior Special Assistant to President Buhari on Foreign Affairs and Diaspora. 

  
Abike Dabiri, 53, prides herself on her outstanding career as a broadcaster. She spent 15 years of distinguished and meritorious service at the Nigerian Television Authority (NTA). She also was one of the legislators that stood against the third term bid of the ex-president Olusegun Obasanjo. After 12 years in the National assembly, the former House Committee Chairman on Diaspora Matters shocked her supporters when she announced she was not recontesting in the last elections.
