Zika Virus, the fast spreading epidemic which is plaguing Latin America is on the increase.
Colombia has confirmed 21,000 new cases of the mosquito borne virus. The Zika virus has been linked to microcephaly in new born children, a condition where children are born with small heads and brains.
Over 2,000 pregnant women have also been confirmed to have contracted the virus.
Only Brazil has recorded more Zika virus infections than Colombia since last year.
The Zika virus is spread by the Aedes aegypti mosquito and currently has no cure or vaccine and is made more dangerous by the fact that its symptoms are rarely easily noticeable.
