Ghana made history today as thousands of entrepreneurs and innovators filled the streets of
Accra for the Entrepreneurs’ March, a powerful demonstration of Africa’s growing
entrepreneurship movement. The March served as a vibrant build up to GEF 2025, the world’s
largest entrepreneurship gathering, a three-day experiential festival to be hosted by H.E. John
Dramani Mahama, President of the Republic of Ghana, from November 21 to 23, 2025.

Beginning at 7:00 a.m., the city came alive as participants dressed in branded GEF T-shirts and
waving national flags marched in unity for prosperity, job creation, innovation, sustainability,
youth empowerment, and entrepreneurship.

With placards reading “This is not a protest. It is a movement an entrepreneurship movement,”
participants from across Africa and beyond walked side by side, symbolizing hope, resilience,
and a shared commitment to building a prosperous and inclusive future for the continent.
The atmosphere was charged with energy, creativity, and collaboration, the same forces driving
Africa’s expanding innovation and startup ecosystem.

GEF 2025 will convene over 10,000 global leaders, investors, policymakers, startups, and youth
entrepreneurs from more than 70 countries, alongside a virtual audience of over 10 million. Under
the theme “The AI-Powered Entrepreneur: Creating a Sustainable Planet,” the Festival will
spotlight technology, innovation, and sustainability, advancing the United Nations Sustainable
Development Goals (SDGs) through enterprise and collaboration.

This year’s edition will feature 12 concurrent events, each designed to foster economic inclusion,
digital transformation, and sustainable growth across Africa.

Today’s march not only celebrated the entrepreneurial spirit of Africa’s youth but also
underscored Ghana’s emergence as a regional hub for innovation and opportunity.
The Global Entrepreneurship Festival continues later this month, with the world watching as
Africa redefines the future of business and innovation.
