6.7million uncollected PVCs in 17 states – INEC

With less than eight weeks remaining until the general elections, at least 6.7 million Nigerians have not yet received their permanent voter cards.

Information acquired from the offices of the National Electoral Commission uncovered that 6.7 m PVCs were secured in INEC safes across 17 states and the Federal Capital Territory.

The INEC had stated that the collection window for PVCs would open on December 12, 2022, and close on January 22, 2023

The INEC Public Magistrate for Data and Citizen Training, Festus Okoye, revealed in a proclamation that with impact from January 6 – 15,2023, the collection of the PVCs will be devolved to the ward level after which collection would be moved to the local government areas.
