That the monthly Nigerian Broadcasters Nite (NBN) has shifted base from Lagos is like stating the obvious. It actually makes no news to those in the know that Ibadan in Oyo State is the first stopover for NBN’s moving train!
And more news…Edmund Obilo and Ronke Giwa, the two famous presenters in the South-west have emerged the first set of On-air Personalities to be hosted and celebrated at the Nigerian Broadcasters Nite in Ibadan!
You will, of course recall, that Edmund Obilo and Ronke Giwa both floored their other colleagues in the South-West region, to emerge NBMA’s ‘Most Popular Radio Presenters in Nigeria in 2012.
It may interest you to know that Edmund Obilo is also one of the big boys in Ibadan, though; the ace presenter was born in the city of Benin. With ‘Bull’s Eye’, his popular programme, Edmund has not only dined with kings, but he has also rubbed shoulders with those who matter in society and those who call the shots on the political terrain.
Apart from Bull’s Eye – a three hours talk show on the state of the nation, with comments and analyses, ‘Village Square’ and ‘Economic Searchlight’ are other programmes that have made Edmund a golden fish with no hiding place. The young mad had earlier begun his career with Radio Nigeria, Ibadan, before pitching tent with Splash FM.
Now that the stage is set, there is no doubt on what to expect when these two amazing OAPs emerge for the Night. Aside Edmund and Ronnie G, foremost DJ Gavpop is the official DJ for the night while DJ NU is the event’s Special Guest.
