Zendaya Maree Coleman, popularly known as Zendaya has won the Emmy for lead actress in a drama series for her performance in Euphoria. At 26 years old, she is the youngest actress to win two Emmys. She is also the first Black woman to win the same category twice. Zendaya thanked the cast and crew of “Euphoria” as well as those who have shared their stories with her.

Zendaya defeat a tough slate of competitors which included Jodie Comer’s Killing Eve, Laura Linney Ozark, Melanie Lynskey Yellowjackets, Sandra Oh’s Killing Eve, and Reese Witherspoon’s The Morning Show. The euphoria did quite well in the lead-up, scoring wins for choreography, cinematography, makeup, editing, and guest actor for her costar Colman Domingo, who plays Rue’s sanguine sponsor Ali.
