A policeman attached to the Special Protection Unit of the Lagos State Police Command, has reportedly shot one Jubril Mobolaji in the Ajiran, Lekki area of the state over a bad N100 note according to the PUNCH
The policeman, a sergeant, an orderly to a rich man had gone to buy a 200 naira recharge card from a shop operated by one Sherifat.
He was said to have given her N500 and collected N300 change – one N200 and another N100 note.
The sergeant then complained about the N100 and an argument ensued between him and Sherifat.
As the argument went on, the woman, asked offered to return the N500 and collect the card.
Kabiru left at this point only to return some minutes later with his gun.
Sources said he shot at the ground and inflicted a wound on another customer, Mobolaji who had gone there to buy some items.
The matter was reported to at the Ilasan Police Station, and Kabiru is believed to have been arrested.
