Minister of Sports, Solomon Dalung has revealed that Nigeria will be represented in just eight sporting events at the 2016 Olympic Games in Rio, Brazil.
Dalung stated that he was not happy with the level of preparation for the Games, but promised that efforts will be made to speed things up.
The Minister also assured that the athletes will be well motivated financially, so the country makes a better outing this time around.
โOur plan is to present only eight sporting events at the Olympics and we are going to invest more in the sports to make sure they have good outings in Brazil.
The events will be menโs football, basketball, canoeing, table tennis, some track and field athletes and wrestling.
