Earlier today, January 20, 2025, the Executive producer and CEO of the Headies Awards, Ayo Animashaun, released a statement where the date for the award ceremony for 2025 was revealed.
In the statement, Animashaun revealed that the Headies Awards for 2025 will be held in Lagos, Nigeria after a two-year hiatus that saw the music award ceremony held in Atlanta, Georgia.
The award ceremony is finally back home where it belongs according to Ayo Animashaun. In his statement, he announced the date for the 17th edition of the award ceremony.
The 17th edition of the Headies Award will be held on the 5th of April 2025. Here’s an excerpt from his statement below:
“This year’s edition is packed with an extraordinary lineup of events, culminating in a week-long celebration of the industry’s growth and artistic ingenuity.”
Ayo Animashaun noted that this year’s edition will be packed with an extraordinary lineup of events, and it would be a week-long celebration of the tremendous growth the entertainment industry has witnessed over the last few years.
He also stated that it would be a celebration of the artistic ingenuity of Nigerian music creatives. In the statement, it was stated that activities surrounding the 17th edition of the award will kick off on the 29th of March 2025 with The Headies Stakeholders brunch and the nominees’ party.
And the penultimate show itself will be held on the 5th of April.
