It is officially six days to the 2016 edition of BET AWARDS in Los Angeles, California. We had a quick chat with our very own VJ from MTV Base Nigeria, Ehiz, who will be on the red carpet on June 26th, 2016 at the Microsoft Theatre.

It has been confirmed that Usher, Future and Bryson Tiller are among the many superstars billed to perform at the star studded event.

Here is what Ehiz has to say about the African nominees category for this year’s award. Read below.

1. How big are your expectations for the BET Awards 2016?

My expectations are huge obviously because it’s the BET awards and i know that this year will be amazing because of the variety of songs and artistes on display, from the nominees to the guys performing and of course our African brothers will bringing it hot this year as well so I expect it to be an amazing experience

2. What are your thoughts about the rapid in global recognition and acceptance of African Music and Artist in recent years?

To be honest I think it’s being a long time coming, we (Africans) have been killing it for years now and I bet the world already had a clue but in recent times it’s been clear that we have the juice. Check the stats, we have a lot of collabos from different parts of the world so we gunning for something bigger ( maybe the Grammys).

3. How would you describe your career journey since you won MTV BASE VJ SEARCH Nigeria in 2013?

it’s been a big blessing actually it’s been more than a blessing. Great things have come my way since I won and am sure you guys have seen the growth. Bigger things to come.
