After an excruciatingly long wait in which the world’s media trained their cameras on what are now the most famous double doors in the world (the entrance to the Lindo Wing at St. Mary’s Hospital), a beaming William finally — FINALLY! — emerged beside an unbelievably rested-looking Kate as she held their sleeping newborn.
“He’s got a good pair of lungs on him, that’s for sure,” William told reporters, adding that he was thankful the baby looked like his wife. William also acknowledged the crowd’s wait. “I’ll remind him of his tardiness when he’s older,” he joked.
The couple strapped the still-unnamed infant into its car seat (which was inspected by hospital staffers before they left) and headed home to Kensington Palace. This is your life now, little guy.
