A 60-year-old commercial motorcycle rider and father of 30 lost his life when a tipper bumped into his motorcycle along Ganaja junction in Lokoja, Kogi State. The accident occurred on Monday and claimed the passenger’s life.
An eyewitness revealed to journalists that the accident resulted from the reckless riding of a commercial tricycle that left his lane to another lane to avoid hitting a motorcycle but was hit by another truck heading to Ajaokuta axis.
The source said to avoid the Keke NAPEP, the Okada rider was pushed from his lane by the trailer, and him and his passenger were crushed by an incoming tipper and di€d on the spot. Speaking on the accident, the Kogi State Commander Stephen Dawulung, Sector Commander, Federal Road Safety Corp (FRSC), said,
“The man, Abdulsalam Ibrahim, a 60-year-old commercial motorcyclist, and his passenger were killed by the tipper truck at Ganaja Junction in Lokoja.
“The incident was tragic and very unfortunate.”
He lamented that the accident cut short the life of the breadwinner of 30 children.
