The death of three persons have been confirmed after a boat carrying about 20 passengers capsized in Lagos.
The passengers were on their way to Ojo from Coconut jetty, a suburb in Lagos when the boat capsized in the middle of the sea.
There’s no report on the state of the safety of the remaining 17 passengers but three were confirmed dead at the scene of the accident Wednesday night.
The news was confirmed by a source who spoke to The Guardian, “Three people have died and five others missing as boat conveying 20 passengers capsized mid-sea in Lagos yesterday-night.”
“A 20-capacity passenger boat with 18 passengers and two crew members had capsized mid-sea enroute Ojo from Coconut jetty, a suburb in Lagos.”
Efforts to speak with spokesperson of Lagos State Emergency Management Agency Kehinde Adebayo, has proved abortive as phone calls were not answered as at the time of filing this report.
