The film is a short drama based on historical fiction drama that explores some events of the Nigerian civil war through an encounter between Biafran Leader, General Odumegwu Ojukwu (George Ojefua) and Major Emmanuel Ifeajuna (Amarachukwu Onoh).
In his words… “There comes a time when history and fiction has to be merged and that was what I did when I produced this short story”
Directed by ace director Tolu Ajayi and produced by Ekene Mekwunye with screenplay by Sammy Egbemawei, the film attempts to capture a moment in the history of the nation and how the events that transpired helped in determining what Nigeria is today.
In light of recent events, Ajayi was quick to say that “God forbid” they would milk the situation on ground and said it was a coincidence that their film came out around this time. ar and sees an imprisoned Ifeajuna is summoned by Biafran Commander-in-Chief General Ojukwu for one last conversation – one last encounter. Emmanuel Ifeajuna is based on the real-life character, a celebrated sports man who became an educationist and eventually a military man.

The Encounter goes a step further by not only addressing a highly significant issue of the time through seamless storytelling; the film entertains, educates and also informs the audience on the importance and value of Nigerian history by delving into the subject matter and dissecting and analysing the roles played by pivotal historic personalities.
The two defining characters in the short film are critically juxtaposed in order to depict the tension that was characteristic of the time. Their ensuing conversation causes the audience to engage in meaningful reflection.
The moving picture got a special mention at the 2015 Africa International Film Festival in November, 2015.
