Suspected terrorists on Tuesday, near the Dutsinma, Katsina State, attacked the convoy of cars transmitting the Presidency’s advance team of security wardens, protocol, and media officers, killing two policemen in the operation.
The Presidency officials were transiting to Daura ahead of the trip of the President, Muhammadu Buhari (retd.), to his hometown for the Sallah festival. The Senior Special Assistant to the President on Media and Publicity, Garba Shehu, confirmed the attack in a statement without announcing the casualty figure.
The statement tagged “Gallant presidential guards repel an attack on the advance team ahead of President’s visit” read, “The Presidency has interpreted as sad and unpleasant, the shooting experience near Dutsinma, Katsina State, at the convoy of cars carrying the Advance Team of security guards, protocol and media officers ahead of the President, Muhammadu Buhari’s trip to Daura for Sallah festival.”
