Southern Govs Forum Back Zoning Of 2023 Presidency, Set Timeline For Anti-open Grazing Law
The Southern Governors Forum on Monday declared support for rotation and zoning of the Presidency to the South in 2023.
The forum, which consist of 17 governors, at their meeting, reviewed the situation in the Country and focused on the current security situation, constitutional amendment, and Petroleum Industry Bill (PIB).
Furthermore, the forum opposed the removal of electronic transmission of the election result from the electoral act; And also rejected the confirmation of exclusive jurisdiction in pre-election matters on the Federal High Court.
A timeline of Wednesday, 1st September, 2021, was set for the promulgation of the anti-open grazing law in all member States.
Lagos State, was unanimously named as the forum’s
permanent secretariat, after the success of the meeting on Monday, July 5, 2021.
