The Police attacked Shiites In Abuja as the group attempted to enter the National Assembly. A large number of the Islamic movement were reportedly prevented by the use of tear gas by the police in Abuja.
Earlier it was reported that two members of the Shiites were killed and several injured in a recent clash between the security agencies and the Islamic Movement group in Kaduna during a protest over the continuing detention of their leader, Sheikh Ibrahim El-Zakzaky.
The group has been requesting for the release of their leader, Ibraheem El-Zakzaky, who has been detained since 2015.
The Shiites members were said to have arrived the National Assembly main gate at about noon on Monday, attempting to forcefully gain entrance into the compound, but were prevented by the security operatives.
