The Kano State Governor, Abdullahi Ganduje, and his Lagos State mate, Babajide Sanwo-Olu, on Monday, urged the electorate in Osun to return to the incumbent governor of the state, Adegboyega Oyetola for another term. The two governors communicated individually at Odo Otin local government during the All Progressives Congress governorship rally held in Okuku.
Governor Sanwo-Olu, who is the chairman of the APC Campaign Council for the Osun poll, said the ruling party planned to record a landslide victory in the July 16 governorship election, as a precursor to the 2023 general election. He said from his observations, that Oyetola enjoyed massive support from the populace, noting that more governors would come around to support the governorship campaign.
Sanwo-Olu said, My brother, Ganduje, and I felt the need to come here today and cheer, support a beneficial product, a man that has won the trust and confidence of the people of Osun State. So, we felt that we should come and support him because it is reasonable, fit, right, and to also feel the attitude of the state, and we have seen it.
We have been inside and out of the rain and with what we have seen so far, we have seen a huge crowd from the traditional leaders, trade unions, and even spiritual leaders throwing weight behind Oyetola to be re-elected. “We are going to have massive rallies next week which will further confirm that the APC is on the ground in Osun. We are not here only to win but win big as a precursor to the bigger election that is coming up in 2023. Oyetola has impressed us as a party, more of our colleagues are still coming on the way in solidarity.
Also speaking at the rally, which was attended by the National Secretary of the party, Senator Iyiola Omisore, Governor Ganduje, who is the co-chairman of, the APC Campaign Council for the Osun poll, predicted an overwhelming victory for the party in the coming election and appealed to the electorate to ensure that Oyetola reelected.
