Chee gives us the new pop single “No More” and there’s a mix of electro and dancehall on it, which is good. She has a tender yearning for the big stage, a yearning so great she recruits the kingpin Olamide so that together they try stealing some shine with this Leriq production.
It is the okay effort, and Chee is our favorite Igbo girl; especially with her many accented humorous utterances, some of which she lends Phyno on the NGNG project. She has also enjoyed some visibility via the green telecoms platform. Awesome as well. But if she will successfully plunge into this pool that is Nigerian music, she will require a better mix of singing and more top-grade execution.
Baddo and the songstress enjoy a cool synergy on this which is vital for the collaboration. But I hope to see considerable improvements on the next Chee material, because I’d hate for this to be just another regular, run-of-the-mill attempt at music when actually there are sufficient grounds for some stupendous music feats from her.
