Arsenal’s current player of the year, Aaron Ramsey is set to leave Arsenal at the end of the season on a Bosman after he was told by the club he was no longer in Coach Emery’s plans.
The Welshman and the Arsenal hierarchy had been locked in negotiations for months and when a contract extension was virtually agreed, Arsenal pulled the plug on the contract before Ramsey signed.
The player, who has spent 10 years at the North London club will now have to look elsewhere for where to play next season as Arsenal look to forge ahead post Wenger.
Ramsey was one of the five key players Emery said were pivotal to his team at the start of the season and was even named as one of the Captains in the absence of Laurent Kocielny who has been out through injury since last season.
It isn’t clear what changed Arsenal’s mind but Ramsey’s wage demands seemed to be the sticking point.
Ramsey is the highest scoring midfielder in the history of the club with over 50 goals.
