The President and commander in chief of Nigeria’s armed forces, President Goodluck Jonathan yesterday visited Mubi, Adamawa state in effort to boost the morale of the troops as they fight insurgency in the North East.
The Nigerian Army recently captured the town of Mubi, one of the largest cities in Adamawa. Although the President came under a lot of pressure to visit the are early last year, the insecurity made such visit impossible up until this year.
Accompanied by Adamawa state governor, Bala Ngilari, President Goodluck Jonathan reportedly paid a courtesy call on the Emir of Mubi, Alhaji Abubakar Isa Amadu. There are reports that he is also scheduled to visit Baga, Borno State.
Although the Goodluck Ebele administration has received a lot of criticism for their handling of the Boko Haram, but recent turnaround by the Army has definitely ensured that people are seeing him in new light.
