The President of the Federal republic of Nigeria, Muhammadu Buhari has paid a visit to Cameroon today with a number of Northern governors.
The visit to Cameroonian President, Paul Biya, is as a result of the escalation of Boko Haram insurgents in Nigeria and Cameroon.
This follows a regional attempt to end insurgency and the formation of a regional Joint Task Force. The President’s media adviser, Femi Adesina confirmed the visit; “President Buhari is going to Cameroun on Wednesday. He will hold talks with President Biya on arrival and the issue of Boko Haram will be central in their discussion.
The visit is part of the consultation on the Boko Haram insurgency. He was to have gone on the visit in June but for the invitation to Germany by the G7”
