Leading a 33 man delegation to the United States, Nigerian President, Muhammadu Buhari met with President Barrack Obama today in bilateral talks which are thought to be beneficial mostly to Africa’s giant.
There are speculations that the meeting is primarily to curry the support of America in fighting terror after the administration of Goodluck Jonathan had a falling out with the American government.
Nigeria has had serious challenges with security, with the fundamentalist group Boko Haram stepping up attack in the past month and claiming as many as 500 lives in deadly hit and run attacks throughout Nigeria’s Northern region.
The fight against corruption is also said to be on the agenda, with President Buhari seeking the help of President Obama in trying to track millions of dollars allegedly embezzled by Nigeria’s notoriously corrupt public officials.
