Pope Francis ended his tour of South America tomorrow with a three day visit to Paraguay. The Pope arrived Paraguay yesterday from Bolivia and where he made headlines after comparing Global capitalism to the “devil’s dung”. He also visited the Palmasola prison where he shook hands with inmates and urged them not to give up hope.
The government of Paraguay declared two work free days in honor of the Pope’s visit and his Popemobile attracted thousands as even thousands more trooped in from his home country Argentina to see the Pope.
As his tour ends tomorrow, perhaps the greatest talking point years from now will be how the Pope visited the poorest nations and cemented his reputation as a “Pope of the poor”.
