Al Ahly player, Walid Azaro has been banned two matches by the Confederation of African Football (CAF) after ripping off his own shirt during a Champions League game last weekend.
Azaro will miss the second leg against Esperance of Tunisia after the Egyptian club won the first leg 3-1 in Alexandria. Azaro was involved in two controversial decisions that led to two goals in the game. Esperance players and officials claimed he dived to win the first penalty and then feigned receiving a blow and then tearing his own jersey for the second penalty. Al Ahly converted both spot kicks.
Ah Ahly have been fined $20,000 for their behavior while their coach is due to face a hearing regarding all the allegations of unsporting behavior.
CAF have not disclosed why he Azaro was banned but the player, who has six goals for the Egyptian giants in the champions league is set to miss two games, pending appeal.
