People are in uproar over Uber’s owner being a Trump supporter, so Lyft donates to ALCU in response to Muslim Ban
On Saturday night, thousands of protesters around the country flooded airports to speak out against President Donald Trump’s newly signed executive order barring travelers from seven Muslim-majority countries.
The New York Taxi Workers Alliance quickly showed its support, calling on social media for drivers to avoid John F. Kennedy International Airport between 6 and 7 pm Eastern Time on Saturday.
It was revealed that Uber’s CEO is a Trump supporter, which has caused more backlash. People have taken to Twitter in droves with the #deleteuber hashtag. Meanwhile, Lyft, their primary competitor has donated to the ALCU in response to the #MuslimBan and are inviting people to join their service.
