The Chief of Army Staff, General Tukur Buratai has said politicians would not be given military escorts during the general elections.
The Army Chief made this known at a meeting with senior officers of the Nigerian Army. He also said he has directed Commanders to restrict movement and carry out a stop and search and anyone found culpable would be handed over to the Police.
He also assured that the Army would do all in its power to stop election crimes and ballot snatching and also deal decisively with anyone caught doing anything to hinder the smooth running of the elections.
