The wife of the president, Aisha Buhari is currently trending online after her comment on the social media bill.
According to her, if China could control over 1.3bn people on social media, Nigeria should be able to control its population which is lesser than China’s.
The social media bill was said to be introduced to fight fake news.
As expected, Nigerians have reacted to her comment and many people do not find it find it acceptable.

Dear Aisha Buhari, in china, if a government official is found guilty of corruption, he/she will be shot to death and the bullet is paid for by his/her family. How about we copy this from China, not just social media control pic.twitter.com/bca1us0TSO

"If China can control over 1.3bn people on social media, I see no reason why Nigeria cannot control only 180m people" – Aisha Buhari.
Is it not a miracle to see that our First Lady cannot distinguish btw Unitary / One Party State and Democratic State with all our education. ?? pic.twitter.com/NV1RTpUtxs

Dear Aisha Buhari China also kills their corrupt Politicians, we would love Nigeria to start practising that first. Your Aide stole over N2bn, where he saw that money only you know. https://t.co/FkPwdtkMPP

One minute Aisha Buhari is acting like she's with the masses, the next minute she's supporting the social media bill and playing solicitor for Yahaya Bello.
Who the hell is this woman? ?

Aisha Buhari's comment should not surprise anyone. The social media has played a critical role in exposing the hypocrisy of her husband – President @MBuhari, herself and the entire First Family. The Hate Speech Bill and Social Media Regulation Bill are President Buhari's bills! pic.twitter.com/o6c8308DWE

We “copied” social media bill from Singapore; “copied” border closure from China; we want to “copy” social media control from China again?
Corrupt public officials face death penalty in N.Korea and China, can we “copy” that and “copy” development ? #Aishabuhari #NairaMarley

If we are to imitate China in regulating social media let us imitate them too in hanging corrupt politicians. Nonsense! #IRMC https://t.co/CM0ZisaIAJ
