Nigerians will today elect their state Governors and legislators, as well as councilors.
The elections is coming two weeks after the Presidential elections, won by incumbent and candidate of the APC, Muhammadu Buhari on February 23rd.
The elections will take place in 29 states and 991 state assembly seats; six chairmans and 62 councilors seats.
The seven states not voting for Governorship seats are Osun, Anambra, Ekiti, Ondo, Edo, Kogi and Bayelsa, who have been voted off season.
No less than 1063 candidates are currently vying for the Governorship candidate throughout Nigeria with Imo state having the highest with 70 candidates while Kano has the highest number of female candidates with nine candidates out of the 55 candidates vying for the position in the state.
There will be no Givornorship election in Abuja, as the FCT is ruled by a Minister who is appointed by the President.
