The long fuel queues and the battle for fuel has entered its third day. Black market operators are smiling to the bank as well as the few filling stations which have petroleum products and have capitalised on the scarcity to sell at N100 per liter.
Several claims by Oil marketers that the recent fuel scarcity is caused by the Federal Government’s inability to pay oil marketers the subsidy claims for the January and February.
The Minister of finance and coordinating minister of the Economy, Ngozi Okonjo Iweala said today that the scarcity of petroleum products is as a result of “disruption of pipelines and logistical issues”. She said at a Press briefing yesterday; “I want to emphasize that contrary to some unfounded speculations, the queues are not caused by payment issues,”
The PDP on the other hand had earlier blamed the fuel scarcity on the opposition party, APC.
