Following his arrest by the men of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, Naira Marley has been remanded in prison till May 30, when his bail application will be heard. The pronouncement was made by Justice Nicholas Oweibo of the Federal High Court in Lagos, as he pleaded not guilty during his trial commencement today.
The musician was seen looking sober as he appeared in the court on account of the 11 count charge by the EFCC while he pleaded not guilty. It was also reported that his mother was present at the court as she wept at the sight of her son. He was charged in relation to alleged advanced fee fraud as well as credit card fraud. This came shortly after the singer took to social media, urging Nigerian to pray for Yahoo boys as they are the source of wealth of the nation. His statement generated a lot of speculation that he was involved in the criminal act as well other celebrities condemning his effrontery as voicing out such as opinion.
