Saturday the 5th of December hosted the 24th Miss India South Africa Pageant 2015 which saw ZEE TV award the first title of Miss ZEE TV in South Africa. The event, which took place at Gold Reef City – Johannesburg, was attended by guests from different provinces supporting their favourite contestants.
The venue looked dazzling draped with extravagant lighting and decor. The event had a good balance of unique talent, beautiful fashion and intellect which gave the judges a difficult job in selecting the ultimate winners. Before Mr Harish Goyal, the CEO of ZEE TV sashed the winners, he surprised the contestants with an announcement that left them in awe. He announced that the winners will travel to India and be awarded the opportunity to audition for one of the characters on ZEE television.
The Miss India South Africa 2015 title was won by Krsna Priya Dasa from KZN, her talent was a classical dance piece, performed to classical and African music. The 1st Princess title was won by Sherianne Pillay, she performed an Indian dance routine to Sarafina. The 2nd Princess title went to Natasha Pounadu from Gauteng she performed a Bollywood dance item. The Miss ZEE TV title was awarded to Shilpa Govan from Mpumalanga, her talent was Karate. She was selected by the ZEE TV team for her talent as it resonated with what the ZEE TV brand stood for in the continent. It was a courageous act that brought hope and strength in women. “The Miss ZEE TV winner portrayed a women who breaks barriers and stands on her own even in a sport predominantly known to be for men, her talent in karate and her demeanour on stage captured our attention and certainly entertained” says ZEE TV CEO, Mr Harish Goyal.
The event encapsulated the Indian culture to the highest level with music, dance and fashion being the order of the day. The Miss India South Africa 2015 pageant remains an event that cultivates and nurtures young ladies whilst celebrating their personal talents.
