Former first lady of the United States of America, Michelle Obama has paid Njideka Akunyili Crosby a visit in her studio.
Njideka, the daughter of Late Dora Akunyili and an artist based in Los Angeles creates vibrant paintings that weave together personal and cultural narratives drawn from her experience.
According to TIME, Njideka’s works have sold for millions at auctions but in 2018, it was possible to see one at Los Angeles’ Museum of Contemporary Art free of charge.
Her works could also be seen in her studio for free.
While we are not sure the real reason for Obama’s visit at Njideka’s studio, we are sure she was captured by every artwork she sees.
The artist’s sister, Chidiogo shared the news of the former first lady’s visit.
