The first lady of the United States of America, Melania Trump, wife to Donald Trump has undergone a kidney surgery.
Melania Trump underwent the kidney surgery on Monday, May 14, at Walter Reed National Military Medical Center near Washington, DC.
CNN reports that the first lady, who clocked 48 recently, had been experiencing an issue with her kidney. The issue was described as benign but requiring medical attention.
The first lady however, underwent an embolization procedure to treat the benign kidney condition. The procedure was successful, and there were no complications.
Still at Walter Reed National Military Medical Center , the first lady will likely remain there for the duration of the week.
“The first lady looks forward to a full recovery so she can continue her work on behalf of children everywhere,” the first lady’s communications director, Stephanie Grisham, said in a statement.
The report said Trump was in the office all through the day but is expected to pay a visit to the hospital soon.
