Shuga is a TV Soap opera that educates youths on HIV, safe sex and teen pregnancy. It also touches on maternal and child health, family planning, gender-based violence, and women empowerment.
A press conference held on the 13th of April in Lagos and OSG had the opportunity to interview some of the cast.
See what they had to say about their character and how it has affected their personal lives.
Nick Mutuma: Who is taking the character of Leo said “In the past season, my character was a soft spoken, ladies man kind of person but in season 4, we explored a much darker version of Leo.
Peace Hyde: Whose character (Eniola) is a new one is the Shuga series said; “ Eniola is a mother mentor to Princess and she supports princess during her pregnancy. In this season, the relationship between Princess and Sophie is dicey, but I am not going to give it away. Eniola is kind of like the peacemaker”
Sharon Eze Amaka: Who is taking the character Princess said; “ In season 4, Princess remains Sophie’s annoying little sister”
Olumide Oworu: Whose character is Wike said; “Shuga has been amazing and I am excited about this new season. In season four, Even with Wike’s HIV status, he has a girlfriend. There is more depth to my character this season. Shuga gets bigger with every season”
Dorcas Shola Fapson: Whose character is Sophie said; “Sophie is a party girl who was raised in a small farming community and desires to move to the city. She has a very annoying sister, Princess”.
Chris Attoh: Whose character is Nii said; “ The chemistry on Shuga has always been easy. You have a number of actors coming together from everywhere to make movie magic, to be able to reach out to the audience to educate and entertain them. I played the character Nii and In season three, He was an abusive husband and in season 4, unfortunately I found out that he is more”.
