Man who vandalized Trump’s star won’t be going to jail
The man who vandalized President Trump’s star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame, has cut a deal in his felony vandalism case. James Otis destroyed the star in October 2016, as a way of protesting Trump’s candidacy.
In a twist, he won’t be spending any time in jail. He pleaded no contest to the vandalism charge and was placed on 3 years probation.
He was also asked to pay the Hollywood Historic Trust and the Hollywood Chamber of Commerce a total of $4,400. This is probably for damages. James Otis will also do 20 days of Caltrans work , possibly picking up trash by the freeway.
