Being president isn’t about being showered with gifts … except when it is. You can now read an 87-page list of all the presents bestowed on the Obamas in 2011, just published in the Federal Register (basically a government newsletter that no one reads).
The French president gave the classiest gift: a Hermes golf bag worth more than $7,000. But Polish Prime Minister Donald Tusk offered Obama perhaps the oddest gift: a copy of Poland’s hit video game “The Witcher 2: Assassins of Kings.” Sadly, Obama couldn’t keep a single gift, as they are all turned over to the National Archives. So now we’ll never know how much the commander in chief would have enjoyed “The Witcher 2: Assassins of Kings.”
