Kurdish Fighters Retake Sinjar From ISIL

Kurdish fighters have succeeded in retaking the Northern city of Sinjar, Iraq, after pushing out fighters of the Islamic State of Syria and Levants (ISIL).

The Kurdish fighters now have control of the entire town even as a resurgence is expected from ISIL fighters. The Kurdish fighters have US backing as US forces are providing air strikes even as American forces have carried out more than 200 airstrikes in Iraq in the past month.
