Kaduna State Assembly Removes Deputy Speaker After Defecting From APC To PDP
John Audu-Kwaturu, the lawmaker representing Kachia Constituency, who defected from the ruling All Progressive Congress (APC) to the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has lost his position as Deputy Speaker of the Kaduna State House of Assembly.
Audu-Kwaturu, with another lawmaker, Junaidu Yakubu, representing Kudan Constituency, had both defected from APC to PDP.
His defection did not go down well with the Speaker of the Assembly, Aminu Abdullahi Shaghali who insisted Audu-Kwaturu had to forfeit his position.
The other lawmakers subsequently elected Nuhu Goroh Shadalafiya, the honourable representing Kagarko Constituency as the new Deputy Speaker.
Goroh Shadalafiya was nominated by Dahiru Liman, and seconded by Ahmed Mohammed.
Until his emergence and swearing in as Deputy Speaker, Shadalafiya was the Chairman of the House Committee on Information.
