Pop superstar, Jennifer Lopez has said celebrities these days have things easy with social media compared to the 90’s where celebrities were left to the mercies of tabloids with no avenue for rebuttal.
In a recent interview, she said that it was easy for stars nowadays to show their other side people don’t often see and connect more with the fans, unlike earlier where that was the mainstay of the tabloids who printed what they liked.
She said: “It was actually worse then.
“It was just crazy now. Now at least I can show you who I am a little bit. Back then you just believed anything you read on the cover of a tabloid.
“Many times, it wasn’t true, it was like a third of the truth.
She also said the selfie-driven era of megastars makes her feel like an old woman.
“Now I sound like my mom: ‘I used to walk uphill to school before they were cars'” she said.
