Two weeks to the election and with calls coming from several sections of the country for INEC to postpone the elections, the electoral commission has finally decided to extend the deadline for collection of permanent voters cards.
Following INEC’s insistence that only voters with the permanent voters cards will be allowed to vote on election day and the inability of more than half of the registered voters to collect their PVC’s, INEC has extended the date of collection till February 8.
The earlier deadline set by INEC was January 31, 2015 and has called on registered voters to avail themselves the opportunity of the extension to collect their voters cards.
