The Ghanaian government has signed a deal with Ethiopian airlines to establish a national Airline in Accra.
This decision was borne out of the need for a national aircraft, ever since Ghana Airways and Ghana International Airlines ceased to operate in 2016. The establishment is a joint investment from the Ghanaian government, the private sector, and the Ethiopian airline.
According to the structure of the deal, the Ghanaian government will have 10%, private investors from West Africa will take 41% while Ethiopian airline will have 49%. The airline has been targeted to kick-off operation later this year or early 2020. It will run domestic, regional, and international flights.
