One of Nigeria’s former minister of police affairs; Ibrahim Lame has been confirmed dead at the age of 66. According to close sources, the ex-minister was confirmed dead at the Nizamiye Turkish Hospital, Abuja, after a protracted illness.
Ibrahim Lame began his political journey as far back as 1992 when he was a senator during the Third Republic. In 1999, he wasĀ appointed Senior Special Assistant to President Olusegun Obasanjo. In 2008, he was appointed Minister of Police Affairs by President Umaru YarāAdua. In 2015, he contested for the primary ticket of the APC for the Governorship in 2015 but lost to Mohammed Abubakar. The outgoing Bauchi State Governor; Mohammed Abubakar, in a condolence message, made available to newsmen on Sunday through his Press Secretary, Abubakar Al-Sadique said; āI was in Ahmadu Bello University Zaria with Dr Ibrahim Yakubu Lame, and had the opportunity of working with him. āWe will miss Dr Lame and will remember him for expressing his views on matters of nation building. May Allah forgive his shortcomings.ā
