The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge have welcomed their third child some hours ago, at the St Mary’s Hospital.
Kate Middleton who has left the hospital for home, posed for pictures outside the central London hospital where international media and well-wishers had gathered to celebrate the Royal family’s new arrival.
The Royal couple posed for pictures with the Duchess holding her son who was nestled in a white blanket.
The duke told reporters he was very happy, and very delighted. He also added: “Thrice the worry now.”
When pressed on any clues for the name, Prince William said: “You’ll find out soon enough.”
Kensington Palace tweeted a picture of the couple with the caption: “Welcome to the family.”
The baby is fifth in line to the throne and the Queen and the Duke of Edinburgh’s sixth great-grandchild.
The baby’s sex was a surprise to William and Kate, who chose not to find out in advance.
“The Queen, the Duke of Edinburgh, the Prince of Wales, the Duchess of Cornwall, Prince Harry and members of both families have been informed and are delighted with the news. Her Royal Highness and her child are both doing well.
After the birth was announced on the official Kensington Palace Twitter and Instagram accounts, a bulletin notice declaring the birth will go on display on an easel in the forecourt of Buckingham Palace.
The Duchess is however, still expected to attend Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s wedding on May 19.
