Johannesburg – Coke Studio brought you yet another all-star collaboration on Saturday with two multi-award winning hitmakers, Cassper Nyovest and Diamond Platnumz.
These two music giants have been meaning to work with each other and were amped to take up the opportunity to create a hit track in just 48 hours.
For the very first time, the two finally met in studio, working with producer Gemini Major to create a single that includes elements of hip-hop, guitar notes, and piano keys. With Cassper’s unique Motswako rap and Diamond’s soulful Swahili verses, the group were able to create their song, My Heart.
In the second half of the show, Producer Denholm Harding, creator of the current radio favourite Control-Alt-Delete by Jimmy Nevis and Opposite The Other, got back into the Coke Studio with funk-rock band Nje from Durban and Limpopo hip-hop artist SpaceMunna.
Working together, the group created a new sound fused with elements of funk, pop, rock, and hip-hop. The end result is their track, Love Is A Tree.
