A round the clock curfew has been imposed in Gombe state following an attack by Boko Haram militants. Officials of the Nigerian Army claim that the attack by the militants was successfully repelled.
The insurgents attacked the state capital after first attacking the town of Dadin Kowa. It is the first time that the insurgents have launched a direct attack on Gombe.
Air support by the Nigerian Army ensured that the militants were soon sent fleeing back towards their Borno stronghold.
Nevertheless, there is a curfew in place in the Gombe state capital and its environs.
