The fifth edition of the Ake Arts and Books festival kicked off on Tuesday, November 14, 2017. The event is usually held every year hosting lots of creative people in diaspora.
This year’s programme themed ‘This f-word’ had Ghanaian author, Ama Ata Aidoo as the headliner.
Also an all-female singers concert was held at the event where musician Aramide and a whole lot of others thrilled the audience.
Aramide is a Multi-Award Winning Nigerian Afro-Soul/Jazz artiste. An indigene of Ibadan, Oyo State who discovered the talents of singing and writing early.
She performed ‘Eledumare’, a song that is similar to the popular ‘Que sera sera’. She also performed ‘Jowo’ and by the time she sang her hit single, ‘e fun mi lowo mi’, the audience got on their feet to dance along.
Other musicians at the event include Celeste, Joyce, Adunni Nefretiti, Aramide, and Salawa Abeni.
