Popular Controversial Singer, Charles Oputa, popularly known as Charly Boy today led a group of protesters known as “Occupy Unlimited” to the National Assembly complex in Abuja.
Charly Boy who is the national coordinator of the advocacy group said the protest was born out of the will of Nigerian youths who have shown the desire to “stand up against the injustice and oppression done against them by corrupt politicians.”
The artist who rode on his Power Bike to the National Assembly said he was there to provide “fatherly support to the young kids.”
He said: “I am here to encourage some youths who told me that they are not happy with the way things are going in this country. I have always had this faith in my country. I have always said that the future of this country lies in the hands of its exceptional youths and until these youths start to crawl out of wherever they are hiding, Nigeria is going to be in jeopardy.
“I was happy that some youths are doing what young people should do and I am just here to encourage them to take their rightful place in society. I have also advised them on the need to go back to the drawing board and come out massively because this is a course for the few men and women of integrity left in Nigeria to come and speak out against this oppression,” he said.
